Which early Forza Horizon 6 cars are worth your first credits, and which ones only look fast on the stat bars.

Horizon always opens by handing you more car than you need and more credits than you know what to do with. Here is where the early money actually goes further.

Buy for the surface, not the number

Horizon 6’s Japan map is heavier on tight mountain road and street circuit than it is on open motorway. That shifts the value away from top speed and toward mid-corner grip and throttle response.

What to look for

  • Light over powerful. A lighter car with less power will beat a heavier one on the same road for the first several hours.
  • All-wheel drive early. It hides mistakes while you learn the surfaces, and you can move off it later.
  • One good drift car. A surprising amount of early progression is tied to drift zones.

What to skip at first

Hypercars. They are the most fun on the widest roads, and this map does not have many of those yet. Buying one early is credits spent on a car you will drive in about a fifth of the events.

The short answer

Spend early credits on two cars — one light and grippy for road events, one rear-drive for drift zones — and save the rest until the map opens up.
